EVA BIOSCA

INSTITUTIONAL FUNDING

Eva Biosca is a graduate in Biology with postgraduate studies in Marine Biology. She started working in the NGO sector in 1992, volunteering in several non governmental organizations.

From 1997 to 2003 she worked for African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) responsible for  the Projects Department, raising public funds and managing health and development projects in Africa.

She has experience in field work in Kenya, Uganda and Mozambique. She currently works as a consultant specialised in identifying, monitoring and evaluating social, environmental and development projects.


DIANA RUANO ORTIZ

SENIOR CONSULTANT

Diana comes from the brand consulting company, Bloom Consulting, where she was the Strategy Manager following a career both in international business and the non profit world. She led the Strategy team in all strategic reviews and proposals for clients. Diana has worked with Sogecable, Spain’s leading TV group, and with Bassat Ogilvy and Mather in Spain and Ogilvy and Mather in London. She has also worked for NGOs in Morocco and India and has done field work in Nicaragua and El Salvador as well.

Diana has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Stanford University and a Masters in Conflict Resolution from the Open University in Barcelona. She has worked on new market entry studies for several NGOs in the Spanish market, branding and market positioning of NGOs and capital campaigns for Spanish cultural institutions.


Leyre Ayastuy

Communications Department

Leyre Ayastuy joins the Communications Department of Daryl Upsall Consulting International in September 2007.  For the previous two years she has been doing freelance work for different private companies such as Fox International Channel or Videoreport (promotions, market studies and communication).

Leyre developed her main work experience in the thematic television sector at Sogecab (Spain), where during 9 years she worked as Head of Programming and Marketing of the TV Cable Area, being in charge of distribution and marketing for the TV channels produced by this media group.


Isabel Leal

Press Department

A graduate in Information Science from the Complutense University of Madrid, Isabel has developed her career as journalist as well as in the field of corporate communications,. On the private sector, she has worked for Sogecable, Spain’s leading TV group, Europa Press news agency and Discovery Channel amongst others. Her experience within NGO started in 1992. She has worked as communications officer for Greenpeace International’s Communications Department in Amsterdam as well as for Médecins Sans Frontières at the organization’s headquarters in Barcelona.

Isabel joined Daryl Upsall Consulting International team in early 2005 as communications officer. Isabel is responsible for the external communications of the legacies campaign in Spain; the development of market studies for national and international projects and provides support for projects and activities of DUCI’s Communications Department.


Clare Garey

Consultant

Clare has more than eight years experience in fundraising in three countries.  Following several years in the private sector, she began her fundraising career with leading UK cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Support as Corporate Fundraising Manager. 

She then moved to Sydney where she worked for the welfare charity Mission Australia, developing and managing partnerships with major companies and private foundations including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Coca Cola, Bayer, Deustche Bank. 

Clare joined Daryl Upsall Consulting International as a Consultant in May 2006 and has worked on fundraising strategy development, prospect research, market entry studies and recruitment for a wide range of DUCI clients.  Clare holds a Batchelor of Arts in Modern Languages.

Marketing Director

Since 2001 Natalia has worked for the Third Sector with Daryl Upsall in Daryl Upsall Consulting International as the Marketing Director for Spain. Previously she worked 10 years in the private sector in relevant Marketing and Commercial posts, mainly with issues related to trade marketing She is also de Managing Director of two fundraising businesses associated to DUCI in Spain:

  • The Fundraising Company, a call centre dedicated to raise funds for NGO´s and various foundations.
  • Fundraising Iniciativas, a company that works with face-to-face fundraising.


miryam delgado

communications director

Miryam joined Daryl Upsall Consulting International on May 1, 2006 in the new role of Communications Director. 

For the previous 13 years Miryam has worked for the international publishing group Reed-Elsevier in Holland and in Spain as the Marketing Manager of different business units.

Her primary expertise is in marketing and communications, as well as on the complete publishing process (print and electronic).

Previously, whilst living in the UK, she worked in the non for profit sector in Community Services Volunteer (CSV) helping raising funds for joint European projects from the EEC Social Funds.


daryl upsall

executive director

Over the last 20 years Daryl Upsall has successfully worked within NGOs such as The Terrence Higgins Trust and Greenpeace International. He has successfully founded and managed the fundraising, communications and advocacy operations for international development and campaigning organizations in over 40 countries.

Formerly, the International Fundraising and Marketing Director for Greenpeace International for seven and a half years and on occasions acting Communications Director Daryl and his team were responsible for turning around Greenpeace’s financial fortunes, doubling the global net income and raising more than $1 billion for the environment in the process.

In the early 1990’s he was responsible for the first professional fundraising management in the HIV/AIDS sector for what is now the world’s HIV/AIDS organisation The Terrence Higgins Trust. He used this experience to train HIV/AIDS organisations in the UK and Scandinavia. He has also had a successful career in lobbying and advocacy for third world development groups, women’s’ rights, advocacy organisations, political parties and liberation movements.

Daryl is a regular speaker at national and international NGO conferences in the UK, USA, Canada, Netherlands, Kenya, Sweden, Denmark & Spain. He is a volunteer with the Resource Alliance and is a member of the Association of Professional Fundraisers (APF) in Spain and Institute of Fundraising in the UK since 1987 and sits on the Board of EU Consult.
