Daryl Upsall will present the closing plenary at the virtual French Fundraising Conference – “Fundraising et Innovation” on 18 November, 2020.

Daryl will be speaking on the theme of “Fundraising Trends, Opportunities and Challenges in a changing world” looking at the rapidly changing world of fundraising before the COVID-19 pandemic; innovations and trends in fundraising and philanthropy; how many organisations and not only survived, but also thrived during these challenging times and what the future looks like for fundraising.

The world is changing faster than that of fundraising. Our traditional fundraising tools and channels look tired and no longer appeal to new generations of philanthropists; the cost of recruiting and retaining new channels are increasing, and new channels are failing bring in sufficient volumes of new donors and we struggle to compete for attention in 24-7 high speed news world. Covid-19 has added completely new challenges for our sector. So how do we as a sector adapt, change and, therefore, invest for future success in fundraising and philanthropy.

This will be the third time that Daryl has addressed the national conference presented by the Association Française des Fundraisers . This year the overarching message of the conference is “Fundraising and Innovation” with three main themes, namely,

  • The fundamentals for innovating in the social benefit sector
  • Strategic and technical innovation in fundraising
  • Fundraisers as agents of change in their organization
