Emma brings over 15 years’ experience in major gift fundraising and leadership roles in the non-profit sector. Entrepreneurial and results-driven, prior to joining Daryl Upsall International she successfully established and led major gift programmes in Europe and Asia, as well as provided strategic leadership to major gift teams globally. She has worked with national and international organisations around the world and is passionate about the role of philanthropy in driving social impact.
As Director for Global Philanthropy at Amnesty International, she led the organisation’s strategy to diversify and grow major donor income globally. In this role she provided guidance on major gift fundraising to senior leaders and high value teams around the world. Prior to Amnesty, Emma launched and led ActionAid’s first regional fundraising hub in Asia Pacific, developing partnerships with foundations and corporates across the region, in particular Singapore and Hong Kong. She also led VSO UK’s (Voluntary Service Overseas) major gift team and developed the organisation’s first philanthropic investment fund. In her early career, she also held fundraising and prospect research roles in the arts and health organisations.
Emma has a strong interest global fundraising and philanthropy trends. She has contributed to philanthropy and CSR events and publications, and has significant experience of working with senior leaders and influencers. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology, a Master’s degree in English Literature, and a diploma in Marketing and Management from University College Cork. She has lived in Ireland, the UK, South Korea and Thailand.
