Howard Taylor begins his spell as CEO at Lumos!

Almost twenty years ago, Lumos was born with a vision and a hope for all children to grow up in safe and loving families. Ever since the team has been transforming care systems around the world and today, as their 20th birthday approaches, the time for change has come.

We are honoured to announce that Peter McDermott is set to retire and hands over the role of CEO to Howard Taylor. As a transformational leader, Howard joins the organisation with incredible experience gathered from his work in non-profits around the world, including his recent tenure as Executive Director at the United Nations Global Partnerships to End Violence Against Children.

With such a vital leadership position, Daryl Upsall set a team of consultants on the search for Howard including McAra Kirby-Fahey, our International Recruitment Consultant and CEO Zoe Oldham, who has partnered with Lumos on a number of searches over the past decade.

Lumos’ outgoing leader, Peter McDermott commented: “We are delighted to announce, after a very thorough process, we have appointed Howard Taylor as Lumos’s new CEO. We are so pleased that Howard will be taking the reins and know that he will be a really positive addition to Lumos.”

Howard himself also noted: “It’s a privilege to join the Lumos team. I very much look forward to working with you all to accelerate progress to transform care systems – and move closer to realising the vision of a world in which every child grows up in a safe and loving family.’

It was a privilege to collaborate with Lumos to find their new leader and all of us here at Daryl Upsall international look forward to seeing Lumos thrive under Howard’s leadership.
